I've always wanted to do a googling to the boss of Google. Let's see if we can stick a Google search on this, what your brain says, you need to find out what's keeping your heart excited by Sunday. CEO and its parent company are Alphabet which owns YouTube, he was born in South India in Tamil Nadu in 1972 and studied at the Indian Institute of Technology or US in Kharagpur before moving to Stanford University in 2004 he joined Larry Page and Sergey Brin joined Google.
The company was only six years old so nice to see you how are you get used to this new elbow bomb Historically google paid enough taxes in the right places we are one of the biggest taxpayers in the world, uh You know if you look at the average over the past decade we've paid more than 20% in taxes, we pay the majority of our taxes in the US where we originate and where our products are developed, I think good conversations happen and we support global OECD conversations figuring out what's the right way to allocate taxes and you know it's beyond a single company to sort it out how do you think an artificial Intelligence and B. Quantum computing is going to compare with the Internet in terms of total transformation Advances in Artificial Intelligence in our lives You know we are still in very early stages, but I saw it as the deepest technology, which Humanity will ever evolve and work and we have to make sure Maybe we do it this way we can use it for the benefit of the society but I hope it will play a fundamental role in every aspect of our life, you know be it healthcare, be it education, How do we build things and how do we consume information you know if you think about fire or electricity or internet you know it's like that but I think deeper than that are people Those who are listening to you now whose only innate understanding of artificial intelligence is dystopias are eaten up by movies like Blade Runner or Metropolis what would you tell them about why they don't need to worry about those dystopias, what comes right I think it's always good to worry about the things that you know children solve problems worrying about it look at the countries you've known for the past several decades, have adopted the technology, those are the countries that have done better and most of those countries Unemployment is also very low so we have a good track record of you know the building technology and adopting it and we see that it brings benefits and you know we should assume that this is likely case but We have a lot of work to do in preparation for this interview, you will be happy to know that I spent many hours studying Quantum Computing mostly on YouTube actually for which you are ultimately responsible and as I understand it from my student days at the Quantum level studying physics at the subatomic level particles are not necessarily particles ar states of matter right so computing today is based on this binary difference and uh among people in quantum computing that would be based on the idea that you have zero and one Can be both and at the same time all states do what I do at the same time.
I've said to take any meaning and if it happens how can it change our lives I think you did a good job of quantum computing 101 I think it is absolutely accurate and you know that what it does now you can simulate uh you know you can hold the complexity because you can keep track of many more states at once instead of zero and a single qubit can take many more possibilities than a classical bit And this is what gives us the computational advantage to better simulate and understand better. world 18 months ago Google announced that it achieved quantum supremacy uh & what kind of progress have you made since that first milestone you know I'm very excited about the progress I mean This is a long term thing we want to do next is to build something called an error, fix a quantum computer, that means we have shown it can work but we have to show that It has to be quite stable, you know quantum computers are very fragile so we are just trying to design stable uh quantum computers. It's probably still a decade away so we're building state-of-the-art labs and we have a clear goal and work towards making people hire and progress. Wanna know firm do you let your kids on youtube you have two teens I understand yes I do what your policy on screen time for kids I think this generation needs to learn to adapt to technology need it to be a big part of their life Develop limits on your own I think we should worry and I think you know I'm glad experts are looking at areas like mental health and all that but I would also say you know the history we've always been worried about technology uhhhhh okay i'm gonna end with some quick fire questions these are vaguely fun is your google home speaker always on at home yes it is yes but you know i only listen to it when i address it i know how often you change your password oh i know i use i would encourage everyone you know to use two-factor authentication and you know I make sure ta so i don't need to change my password because often i have multiple productions how many phones do you have i imagine you have 20 you know the number of phones i have now i am constantly changing And trying out every new phone and I'm testing it all the time whether you're Indian or American okay I'm a US citizen but I've you know that's deep inside me and so that's a big part that who is i favorite player i would say you are a cricket fan uh you know tendulkar sachin tendulkar more than solo qua vasco now you are making it very difficult for me like dickens or shakespeare dickens larry or sergey larry and sergey that they always say do you eat meat i am not republican or democrat ii keep my politics to yourself how many times you talk to mark zuckerberg you know assam and uh there isnt for it from time to time when Jeff Bezos is going to space so are you okay I'm a little jealous yes i would love to see the earth from space when you cried last Will give from humble beginnings to someone who wants to run a great company. I've always felt that all you need is more than what your mind tells you. You need to figure out what kind of excites your heart and that's a Travel is and you will know it when you find it and if you find that things seem to work out you wanted to be a cricket player when you grew up and it makes two of us so I brought my lucky charm so we can knock a little bit somewhere here if you have a good time why not I'm glad I caught the ball you can come back can you vote.
